Haiti 13, December 2017 – Sunday Update

Updated: Mar 4, 2022

Greetings friends!  Apologies for the very late update. It has been a very full day, but a good one with many blessings and opportunities to serve.

After breakfast, our team walked to the village for worship at Jacob’s Vision Church of Tse Guinea. As always, we were blessed by the Haitians’ worship in song, and to our surprise, Hans was introduced as the guest speaker.  Pastor Gersan Valcin had actually asked Hans minutes before if he would bring the message.  He taught from Philippians 2 about Jesus emptying Himself to enter the creation that He made – a very appropriate Christmas message. We hustled back to camp afterwards and worked very hard to finish preparations for the wedding reception where we served over 70 local guests. It was quite an amazing event, and we were blessed to be a part of the team helping to serve them.  It is 10:00, and we have just finished cleaning up and breaking down a wedding reception to turn our focus completely toward CAMP!!

The village children will be pouring through the gates early tomorrow to our delight! Pray that God’s Word will be alive and active and that the Gospel will be heard, understood, and believed by many.  Our team will split tomorrow so that half of us can go to assist a second day camp in operation at another village.  The Haitians are really doing an excellent job as the primary leaders, and we will be close by to assist and support where needed.

Our team is wrapping up the evening now with a devotion from Exodus 3 where Moses encounters the Lord in the burning bush. While we don’t encounter the living God in this miraculous way today, He is the same omnipotent and Holy God who is to be feared and revered.

Please pray for us to get good rest tonight and to be ready to roll energetically tomorrow as we serve children and the Haitians who are leading the kids. Pray that they will communicate the Gospel and God’s Word clearly and effectively.

Thank you all for your prayers and support!! You continue to bless us. No suitcases yet. Keep praying. Maybe tomorrow.

Bon Nwit, Haiti 13 team

P.S. The cake boss team rocked and the cake held firm. All praise be to God!!
