Today was another beautiful day in Belize. We started the day at varying times from 6:30-8:00 with personal devos and then we enjoyed a delicious breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, potatoes and fruit before we headed to the school at St. Margarets Village to begin camp.
The morning consisted of crafts, soccer, games and other activities, and while there weren't many kids in attendance, we made the most of the morning and everyone had a blast. With the smaller groups, we got to have more personal conversations with the kids. Whether that was asking how their day was or what they thought of different ideas, it was amazing getting to know them better and form deeper friendships with the kids.
After we finished up with our morning time, we cleaned up our stuff and headed back to Samuel’s Sanctuary for lunch. We had an incredible meal of rice and beef roast with potatoes. After we finished eating, we got a moment to regroup before we headed back to the village for the afternoon.
On our way back to the village, we swung by the Country Barn for some ice cream, which was as amazing as always!
In the afternoon we did three stations for the kids. We had archery, crafts, and red light green light. Following that we sang bible songs and did a bible drama skit over Daniel 2. Many intentional conversations were had with the kids at each station and fun was had by our team and the kids this afternoon.
During the day four team members including Audrey, Gage, Emily, and Caroline got to stop by the Grace Bible team’s Clinic and observe the work they were doing and that was a really cool experience for us all.
This evening we went on a hike at the sleeping giant resort and we enjoyed the views at the top before heading back down to a delicious dinner of immaculate pizza and a view. We spent time in good fellowship with each other before heading back to Samuel's Sanctuary to a team debrief and devo over Habakkuk 2:1-5 led by Matt.
There was an abundance of joy found in today's activities and we are excited to continue pursuing conversations and relationships with the kids as the week goes by. We ask that you pray for our ability to continue to do that well!
